All Penn-Delco Schools Earn a Blue Ribbon at Reading Olympics
Congratulations to our Reading Olympics teams! Our outstanding readers competed in the 2016 Reading Olympics presented by the Delaware County Intermediate Unit on May 2 and 3 at Radnor High School. Every School in Penn-Delco earned a blue ribbon, the highest award at the competition, besting teams from public and private schools from around the county. A second team from Coebourn brought home a red ribbon award as well.
Students collaborated with their teammates to read 40 to 50 books over the course of several months that were selected by a committee of librarians, reading specialists and classroom teachers. During the competition, the students answered questions about the books they read, collaborating on answers and thinking back to the many details of each story.
The goal of the competition is to encourage reading for enjoyment and improving literacy skills. Congratulations to our outstanding teams!
