Honoring Education Support Professionals
Penn-Delco School District is grateful for the contributions made by our Education Support Professionals (ESPs) who strengthen our schools and communities.
ESPs include clerical service workers, custodial and maintenance workers, food service workers, health and student service workers, paraeducators (classroom assistants), security workers, skilled trades workers, technical service workers (technology and communications), and transportation service workers.
The National Education Association notes that more than 2.2 million ESPs work in our nation’s public schools and colleges, making up one third of the public education workforce. A majority (67%) live in the school district where they work, and many volunteer in those communities. A majority (76%) of K-12 ESPs have responsibilities for promoting and ensuring student and staff safety and nearly one-third (31%) have supported activities of a parent organization while 18% coach or support a sports program.
We are Penn-Delco Proud of our ESPs and appreciate their contribution to education every day!
