The Pennell Elementary Community recognized Autism Awareness Week by offering students some insight into what people with Autism might experience in their daily lives.  From Sensory Friendly Day (wear comfortable clothes and use natural light) to Neurodiversity Day (celebrating the beauty in the diverse spectrum of the human mind with Bubble stations), students were encouraged to acknowledge differing experiences and perspectives by those with Autism and others whose Neuodiversity impact their lives.  The week ends with a silent disco and other activities created to influence understanding and compassion for fellow students.
