Four students chosen for Regional Chorus

It was a beautiful District Choir Festival January 12-14 as seven Sun Valley students participated in the multi-day event of rehearsals and a grand performance on Saturday, January, 14.  

Seven students participated in the District Choir Festival at Octorara High School. They were:
  • Madison Meehan: Alto 1
  • Avery Landis: Alto 2
  • Alexsandra McKeown: Alto 2
  • Samantha Young: Soprano 1
  • Seamus McGroary: Tenor 2
  • Pat Willey: Tenor 2
  • Ryan Herbus: Tenor 2

Students had the opportunity to audition to qualify for the Region IV Choir Festival at West Chester University February 16 - 18.   The top 10 sopranos, altos, tenors and basses get to move onto the Region Choir Festival. 

 
Sun Valley had 4 out of 7 rank in the top 10 and are moving onto Regional Choir.  Those Students are: 
 
  • Avery Landis
  • Seamus McGroary
  • Madison Meehan
  • Samantha Young
 
These students will participate in the Region Choir Festival at West Chester University from February 16th through February 18th. They will give a concert on Saturday morning at 11am featuring 8 pieces of music they are now learning.   These students will also take one more audition on Thursday, February 16th to see if they rank in the top 6 to move forward to the All-State Choir Festival.
