Immunization Extension

With interruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, many families have found that they are behind on dentist, pediatrician, and other health care visits.  Due to the back log, the Pa Department of Health has given a temporary 2-month extension for the immunization due date from the start of school.

To avoid exclusion from school, all required immunizations will now be due on November 9, 2020 (unless a medical plan is in place, or an exemption form is on file).

School Nurse Betsy King strongly urges families to reach out to their physician to get their child vaccinated as soon as possible.

“While the state has extended the deadline, we continue to advise families to make appointments as soon as possible to ensure their child is up-to-date on their immunizations," she said.   "With the continuing challenges that COVID poses, it is important that your child is as healthy as possible with all of their immunizations up-to-date prior to the winter season.”
