The document is meant to guide administrators, coaches, students and families on recommendations for the reopening of athletic programs during the COVID-19 Pandemic in accordance with Governor Wolf’s Guidance for All Sports to Operate during the COVID-19 Disaster Emergency Document. This document permits PK-12 schools under the PIAA to resume in counties designated in the Yellow and Green phases of the Process to Reopen Pennsylvania.
Patrick Rafferty, Athletic Director, is pleased athletes will finally be welcomed back safely:
"We are thrilled to have a plan in place that will allow our student athletes to return to campus and start their voluntary off-season training programs," he said.
"This plan was created with the safety of our students, coaches, and entire school community in mind. While we are excited to begin, we must first train and educate our coaches, athletes and their families on the plan and its heath and safety requirements before our practices can commence on July 6th. I look forward to working with our coaches to ensure that our student athletes are ready to go for a safe return to the playing field come the fall season."
Future information about the resumption of fall sports practices and games will be communicated here and at the Athletics website. Stay connected to your coaches and the Athletic Department as the guidance in navigating challenges posed by COVID-19 evolve. Directives for Middle School sports are forthcoming.
