New technology for learning management and communication unveiled
Families in the district will be introduced to some new technology at Back to School Nights in September. An email message to parents and guardians will explain the new Schoology and Skyward technolgy that is being unveiled at all schools to improve learning management and communication.
Schoology brings together the best K-12 learning management system with assessment management to improve student performance, foster collaboration, and personalize learning. Schoology is Penn-Delco's resource for teachers, parents, club leaders, coaches, and students to communicate and track. With a single account parents can view all the courses and groups their children participate in as well as any important information the teacher, coach, or club leader would like to share.
Sun Valley High School and Northley Middle School parents can view students' grades, assignments, and important information the teacher would like to share as an update. Clubs, extra-curricular activities, and sports teams will also enjoy the benefits of schoology to communicate to their members. At the elementary level, this tool will be used exclusively for communication only. Elementary teachers will provide updates about important information, as well as post items similar to what was previously found on their webpages.
Skyward is the new platform that will track attendance and deliver report cards for all students K-12. It will also serve as the gradebook for elementary schools. Both Schoology and Skyward information will be shared at Back to School Nights. More information can be found at the Technology section of the website as well as under Parent and Student drop downs.
