Instructional calendar for next year released early
The 2019-2020 instructional calendar for Penn-Delco was unveiled and approved at the school board meeting on January 23. Dr. George Steinhoff, Superintendent of Schools, noted that many families utilize the calendar to plan their entire year. The calendar historically was approved and released in March, but the district delivered the final document to be approved and released in January to offer greater convenience and flexibility for parents.
The official calendar for the 19-20 school year features a start date of Tuesday, September 3 (the day after Labor Day) and a slightly longer winter break due to Christmas and New Years Day falling on a Wendesday. Spring break is extended through Monday, April 13 for 2020. Total teacher days number 191 while total student days number 184. There are four extra days built into the calendar for inclement weather. THIS IS THE CALENDAR FOR THE NEXT SCHOOL YEAR BEGINNING SEPTEMBER 3, 2019 AND ENDING JUNE 17, 2020.
Be sure to reference the 18-19 instructional calendar to revisit half-days, holidays and other important testing days on the instructional schedule for the remainder of THIS school year.
