Sun Valley Recognized as Premier Blood Partner by the Red Cross

Sun Valley High School has been recognized by the American Red Cross as one of its Premier Blood Partners for 2025, a prestigious honor that highlights the school's dedication to supporting both the local community and the national blood supply.

Over the course of three blood drives, Sun Valley helped collect 158 blood donations, demonstrating a strong commitment to helping patients in need - whether they’re facing illness, injury, or medical emergencies - both here and across the country.

“We’re really proud to support the Red Cross and give our students a chance to make a real difference,” said faculty advisor Amy Grady. “Hosting these blood drives is just one of the ways our school community comes together to help others.”

Each day, blood and platelet donors are needed to help save lives. According to the Red Cross, donations support accident victims, burn patients, those undergoing surgery, and individuals being treated for cancer, leukemia, or sickle cell disease.

Sun Valley will continue its support by hosting two more drives during the 2025-2026 school year.

Senior Ava McKnight was also recognized at this year’s Senior Awards Night for her leadership and dedication to the Red Cross mission. She will continue her education at Venus Beauty Academy.
