The Blood Drive is November 18, in the Sun Valley Gym. Unfortunately, outside guests may not give blood during our drive, but we have plenty of students, teachers and staff that can donate. As long as you are 17, you can sign up without parent permission. If you are 16, you will need a form that you can get from Mrs. Grady. One pint saves three lives.

SENIORS!! Pie a teacher is back! Do you want to pie a Sun Valley Teacher, Principal or Assistant Principal?

1.       You must confirm with the teacher they are a willing participant before signing up.

2.       Complete this form NO LATER than noon on November 14.

3.       Raise money from November 17 – 21.

4.       Drop off money to Mrs. Grady daily in room A-2.

5.       Hand in all final money by the end of the day on November 21.

The top ten students will get to pie their teacher, the bottom ten students will get pied by their teacher, and everyone in the middle is safe.  Pie a Teacher will be part of the Turkey Bowl Pep Rally on November 25! Please see the Class of 2026 Group on Schoology to sign up.

Please bring in new socks to donate to the homeless this winter season. Socks can be for men, women, or children. Please leave your donations in the blue collection bin in the entryway of the school. We are taking donations through the end of today. You can learn more about this collection by visiting www.thejoyofsox.org.

Student Senate is collecting cans for Camp Out for Hunger. Each homeroom will receive a box. The homeroom that collects the most cans/dry goods will receive a free breakfast. The collection will run through the end of today.

Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union Foundation Scholarship Opportunities (see Schoology for link to applications):

-          Four $4,000 John D. Unangst Memorial Scholarships to high school seniors who will be attending a full-time course of study at an accredited two or four year college, university, trade, technical or business school. Application deadline:  1/15/2026.

-          One $4,000 Delco Hi-Q Scholarship to a high school senior that is a current member of an official Delco Hi-Q Team who will be attending a full-time course of study at an accredited two or four year college, university, trade, technical or business school. Application deadline:  1/15/2026

College Visits:

Seniors/Juniors:  You must pre-register on SchooLinks in order to attend any college visits. Registration closes 8 hours prior to each visit.

Sports/Activities

Attn Winter Athletes:  All PIAA Physical packets and Section 7 Re-certification forms to participate in a winter sport are currently past due. Please turn in your completed forms to the Athletic Office as soon as possible. You can print the PIAA Physical or Re-certification form from the Sun Valley – Athletic website under REQUIRED FORMS or pick one up from the Athletic Office.

Attn any boy interested in trying out for Basketball this winter:  Try outs will be on Friday, November 14, from 6:00-8:30 and also Saturday, November 15, from 11:00-2:00.  Both tryouts are for all three teams (9^th, JV, and Varsity).
