Kindergarten

Penn-Delco offers full-day kindergarten. There is no half-day option.

 

Yes. Penn-Delco School District transports kindergarten students on the same bus as other elementary students, as long as the child lives within the transportation area. Please note: Parkside Elementary School is a walking school zone (no transportation).

Kindergarten registration opens annually in March. Registration for kindergarten in Penn-Delco can be completed electronically in Skyward. Please have the following documents ready to upload to the system:

• Your child’s current immunization records or medical/ religious exemption immunization letter.
• Child’s Birth Certification: acceptable certificates include: state certificate, hospital certificate, or baptismal certificate.
• Proof of residency in the district.

• Your child's birth certificate (acceptable certificates include state certificate, hospital certificate, or baptismal certificate).

Immunizations and Physicals:

• Your child's immunization records or immunization exemption letter.
• Current physical and dental forms (physicals dated after September 1, 2023).

PA Immunization Requirements

Proof of Residency

You must prove that you reside in the Penn-Delco School District to register your child for school. We will need one document from each of these lists:

• Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License or Pennsylvania State ID Card (must reflect the current property address within Penn-Delco)
• Proof of ownership or lease (please submit one) 
  • Deed to the property.
  • Current monthly mortgage bill or statement.
  • Settlement papers (for a home owned less than 1 month).
  • Current year County, Borough, Township, or School District tax bill.
  • Current and valid residential lease agreement (income tax documents are not acceptable for proof of ownership/rental)
• Utility bill for the Property (please submit one)
  • Electric bill.
  • Home phone bill.
  • Heating bill.
  • Cable bill.
  • Water bill.
  • Sewer bill.
  • Notice for the initiation of service to a home owned or rented for less than 1 month (credit card and insurance bills are not acceptable forms of utilities).

Other living arrangements

Parent/Multiple Occupant in an Owned Home (all six documents required):

1. Completed and notarized Multiple Occupancy forms for the current year.
2. Homeowner’s proof of ownership.
3. Current monthly utility bill in the homeowner's name (must be within 60 days).
4. Valid Driver’s License or State ID card of the homeowner.
5. Parent’s valid PA Driver’s License or State ID card.
6. Parent must also provide one of the following items reflecting the address listed on the affirmation: W-2 Form, Public Assistance Letter, Current Pay Stub, Vehicle Registration Card, Utility Bill.

Parent/Multiple Occupant in a Rented Home or Apartment (all seven documents required):

1. Completed and notarized Multiple Occupancy forms for the current year.
2. Current and valid residential lease agreement.
3. Current monthly utility bill in the leaseholder’s name (must be within 60 days).
4. Valid PA Driver’s License or State ID card for the leaseholder.
5. Notarized proof from the landlord documenting permission for all parties to reside in the home or apartment.
6. Valid Parent’s PA Driver’s License or State ID card.
7. Parent must also provide one of the following items reflecting the address listed on the affirmation: W-2 Form, Public Assistance Letter, Current Pay Stub, Vehicle Registration Card, Utility Bill.

*Please note that if proof of ownership or rental of the property is not in the parent/legal guardian’s name, Multiple Occupancy Affidavits will need to be completed as well. These affidavits are available at the Administration Building.

Yes. For every new student registered to attend a school in the Penn-Delco School District, a parent/guardian must complete the registration process and provide all required proofs and documents.

No. Kindergarten registration is ongoing once new student registration opens in March each year.

In the event classroom maximums are reached, administration will assign students to another district elementary school where a vacancy exists (typically the neighboring school). Students typically return to their home school for grades 1-5.
