A little about me: I'm originally from Scranton, Pa. I was a basketball player, softball, and yes, a cheerleader! I graduated from West Chester University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health & Physical Education as well as a Masters Degree in Secondary School Counseling. I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and am an avid sports fan (Yankees, Duke Basketball, & Michigan Football). I have been teaching at Northley for the last 17 years and 19 overall. I along with Mr. Campbell, are Advisors for Intramural Club.
I have been appointed as Northley's Activities Director for this 2018-19 school year. I am excited to take over and oversee our students at Northely become student-athletes. I, along with Mr. Pat Rafferty (District/Sun Valley) Athletic Director, will be promoting a culture of team, community, and excelling not only on the field but most importantly in the classroom and off the field of play. Please check not only my webpage for Sports information but also in our weekly e-mail bulletins as well as on our district website. (Please see below for important Sports information)
Health and Physical Education at Northley is based on teaching the students the value and importance of leading a healthy lifestyle-with the philosophy of a healthy mind in a healthy body. Students will experience a variety of activities in their 3 years at Northley. We believe in giving students the foundation, knowledge, and skill to lead a healthy and active lifestyle for their present and their future. Students in grades 6-8 have the opportunity to join the Intramural Club. This club allows students to experience a variety of activities which are extensions of what we do in class inside and outside. This club meets in the Fall and Spring.
**Please see below for important information including our Health/Phys Ed Syllabus, information and directions on the use of the Fitness Room equipment, Health Parent letters, Intramural Club information, and weekly Physical Education activities, and Northley Sports Info.
We are excited to introduce our Phys Ed classes to the brand new Northley Fitness Room. We would like to explain the use of the new Fitness Room as well as provide directions on use of each piece of equipment below. Directions can be found and read by clicking on the links below.
Use of the Fitness Room - All grades will utilize the five different types of machines in the fitness room throughout their time in Physical Education class. These machines include one treadmill, four Ellipticals, four stationary bikes, one rowing machine, and one hand cycle. Physical Education teachers will review the proper use and safety of each machine. Written directions of each machine can be found in the fitness room and on our teacher webpages.
