Updates from Sun Valley

Time to pick up your belongings

  • Dear Sun Valley families,

If your child has personal items in Sun Valley that they need to retrieve, please use the Sign-Up Genius link (below) to register for a time slot.  Social distancing measures remain in place—including wearing a mask and remaining 6-feet away from other people.  Wearing gloves is highly recommended as well.  Only one person per sign up (for a total of 10 people per time slot) will be permitted in the building.  So if a parent drives a student to SV, only the student or the parent will be permitted in…not both.

The two dates selected for item retrieval are Thursday, May 21st and Friday, May 22nd.  You will select a 15-minute time slot in the link below.  In order to make this process run smoothly, please note the following while filling out the Sign-Up Genius form:

    • Provide the Student’s Name in the name field.
    • Provide a detailed list (in the Sign-Up Link) & location of items you are coming to retrieve.

(i.e. lacrosse stick & blue lacrosse gloves in boys team roomred jacket left in Mr. Mal’s classroom;  or contents of my locker)

    • Select only one (1) time slot per family.
    • The Sign-Up Genius will send a reminder to you one (1) day prior to your selected day/time.
    • MEDICATION from Nurse’s Office: inhalers & epi pens can be picked up by students; all other prescription medications must be handed to a parent/guardian of the student.

We have already cleaned out all hallway lockers and have those items bagged and labeled by student name, in the gymnasium.

How it will work

  • Upon arrival, we will check you in for your time slot and have you go to retrieve your items.  We will have tape markings on the walkway to designate spacing while you wait to be checked-in.  All check-ins will happen at the front, glass double doors near the art classrooms.

Once you have your items, you will exit through the back door by A-10 (former JROTC classroom) and will check-out with a staff member to check off the items that you have retrieved.  We will have a few volunteers available to assist in recovering your items as well.  It would be appreciated if cars used our student parking lot during this process to avoid the construction site in the front circle of our building.

Future planning

  • Returning Sun Valley items (i.e. textbooks, library books, equipment, etc.)

    June 1st

Seniors will return items (return Chromebook & charger) in conjunction with their Cap & Gown Pick-Up.  Specific details will be provided soon.

THANK YOU for your cooperation with this process!
