DCIU Government Shutdown Resources

The ongoing Federal Government shutdown is affecting critical programs that provide food, housing, and energy assistance. SNAP benefits are on hold nationwide, and Pennsylvania must delay the 2025–2026 Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) until December 3, 2025, due to pending federal funding. Other essential services may also be disrupted.

DCIU understands this uncertainty can create extra stress for families. To help, we’ve created a resource page connecting individuals to local food banks, housing support, energy programs, and other immediate services. Please share this information so those affected can access assistance quickly.
