Universal Free Breakfast
Penn-Delco School District is excited to offer free breakfast to all elementary and middle school students, regardless of income.This program is possible thanks to increased state funding that provides universal free breakfast to all 1.7 million public school students in Pennsylvania.
Sun Valley High School will not offer free breakfast because it does not participate in the National School Lunch Program.

Healthy breakfast options that meet federal nutrition standards are available to all elementary and middle school students at no cost. A variety of delicious choices are available every day!
Build a Breakfast
Choose at least 3 food items including at least 1/2 cup of fruits or vegetables to build a breakfast. Choose 4 items for best nutrition!
- Select at least 1⁄2 cup of fruits or vegetables (1/2 cup of fruit or vegetable is 1 item).
- Pick a second serving of fruit, or some other foods like grains, protein, or milk.
- Take a minimum of 3 food items.

Getting Breakfast at School
Each school has its own system for distributing breakfast in the morning. Some schools offer breakfast in the cafeteria, while others have a "grab-and-go" option, allowing students to pick up a quick and convenient breakfast to enjoy during homeroom.
Plan Ahead and Discuss
We encourage you to check the weekly breakfast menu with your child and see if they'd like to take advantage of this free program.
Early Dismissals/Delayed Openings
There will be no universal breakfast served on early dismissal or delayed opening days . Please be sure to offer breakfast at home on these dates. Additionally, breakfast will not be offered on delayed opening days.
