Volunteer Clearance Process

For those who wish to serve as Volunteers in the Penn-Delco School District, state law requires the following clearances to be completed and submitted to the district prior to volunteering:
- Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History Record Check (Act 34)
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151)
- FBI Federal Criminal History Record Check or Volunteer Clearance Exception Statement (see below).
In accordance with law, these documents must be updated every sixty (60) months in order to continue as a volunteer. Certificates may be brought to the office of the school where you will volunteer or delivered to the Administrative Building for processing. The Commonwealth has recently reduced or waived certain fees for individuals obtaining clearances for the purpose of serving as a volunteer. The process of obtaining clearances can be initiated online. Please follow the links below for each of the three (3) clearances.If the individual has been a continuous resident of Pennsylvania for the past 10 years
- Pennsylvania State Police Clearance
If completing online, the Record Check Status Detail is NOT the actual clearance. Applicants must click on the words “Certification Form” on the middle of the screen in order to view and print the actual clearance certificate. The actual Criminal Record Check clearance should have the seal as a watermark on this form.

- Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Federal Criminal History Record Check via PA Department of Education
- You will need to visit an IDEMIA fingerprint facility.
- Here is the required six-digit code for volunteers.
