Technology Handbook

  • Penn-Delco has been pleased to offer a Chromebook to secondary students in its 1:1 Chromebook program and has found it to be immensely helpful in providing immediate internet and instructional resource access.  We remind parents and guardians that the Chromebooks provided to students are district property and constitute technology on loan to students. Similar to other district-owned assets, damage to the resources provided by the district is the responsibility of the student.

For example, when students lose textbooks or damage equipment on loan to them, the replacement cost or repair cost may be charged to the student. Students should not presume that any necessary repairs due to damages to their Chromebooks will be made without cost to themselves or their parents/guardians.

We understand that accidents can happen, and there are steps students can take to best protect their Chromebook device. Please refer to the Penn-Delco 1:1 Student Handbook, which includes tips on proper care and safeguarding of Chromebooks. We recommend that you review the handbook with your student. Included in this handbook is also a table that details costs for damaged or lost Chromebooks.

Please note that the cost for repairs or damage to Chromebooks will be in effect beginning January 3, 2023.
