Welcome Letter from Alisha Mancinelli, Aston Elementary PTL President

Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Alisha Mancinelli

Aston Elementary PTL President

◊ 2021-22 School Year ◊

The Parent-Teacher League (PTL) of Aston Elementary School would like to extend a welcome to you and your children, and would like to encourage you to take an active part in your child’s education.  Studies show that our children will be more successful if parents are involved in their children’s education.  A great place to start is by joining the PTL!

The Aston Elementary PTL strives to support the students, teachers, and staff at our school. Its goal is to work as a team to create fun events, raise money for necessary supplies, and volunteer time where it is needed. The PTL is a great place to meet new parents and socialize while contributing positively to our school community.

I would like to personally welcome all of our parents and guardians to Aston Elementary. My name is Alisha Mancinelli, and I am the PTL President. Our family
began our Aston Elementary journey in 2014. I currently have children in kindergarten, 3 rd , and 5 th grades, as well as a child at Northley. When my son first started in school I got involved with the PTL by volunteering as homeroom mom, then sought out other volunteer responsibilities each year. I have been in charge of fundraising, Vice President, and now President and have truly loved all of my years here at Aston, not only for the wonderful experience provided to my children, but for the great times I have had with other parents.

Last year was a year where the PTL was limited in the ability to volunteer onsite and run activities. We were able to get creative and still raise significant funds through online fundraising raffles, and due to their success, plan to continue these this year. Some of our other fundraisers include Designer Bag Bingo, Discount Card Sales, a Cannoli Sale, and Spirit Nights. All of these fundraisers are necessary to ensure we can meet the needs of the school.

The Executive Board and Committee Heads have many events in the works for this coming year including a Movie & Food Truck Night, Spring Festival, a Color Run, Family Bingo night, and Parent Social Night. In order to make PTL Events happen, we need not only fundraising support, but your time. No amount of time is too small; we recognize that everyone is busy trying to achieve life balance, but by working in teams and dividing up responsibility, we are always able to succeed and ensure our kids have fun. The past 18 months have given many of us a deeper appreciation for all that our staff and teachers do to provide our kids a great educational experience, and we want to continue to increase our support and make  their job easier wherever we can!

We invite you to come to our meetings and see what we are all about.

We meet the 2nd Tuesday of each month. Meetings are taking place in the gym at 6:30pm. Masks are currently required.
