• Dear Northley Families,

On behalf of the entire staff, I enthusiastically welcome you to Northley Middle School, a "Choose To Be Nice" school community.  The staff and I are happy to be a part of the Penn-Delco community and are looking forward to continue serving the families of Aston, Brookhaven, and Parkside.

Northley is a "Choose To Be Nice" middle school! We have aligned with the Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning (CADEL) organization, which is the nation's leading organization with advancing the development of academic, social, and emotional competence for all students. Northley promotes the Nine Core Values (Respect, Kindness, Acceptance, Teamwork, Honesty, Responsibility, Friendship, Patience, and Courage) through lessons, activities and school-wide programs. We believe students will thrive in a school where they feel safe, accepted and valued.

Practicing and promoting the Nine Core Values will help our students enhance their relationship skills, self-awareness, self-management, responsible decision-making, and social awareness. These key skills will help students continue to develop emotional and social competence in the middle school years and worthy efforts to ensure they are Ready for Life.

Northley is one of 45 Pennsylvania schools and 600 schools nationwide to be designated as a Don Eichorn School To Watch.  We have proudly been recognized  for our continued support and focus on student growth, curriculum and instructional improvement and our commitment to middle school child development.

The success of Northley only happens with the support of our student's families and we appreciate this continued support. We have adopted a saying, "WE ARE NORTHLEY!" Northley is not just a building. Northley is a community of parents, teachers, and administrators working together to guide students through their middle school academic and social years. We are all Northley Middle School and I look forward to the continued partnerships with our families.

    Joel Alutius,
    Principal, Northley Middle School
