Dear Parents and Guardians,
Spring is just around the corner and with spring comes nicer weather and spring fever! At Aston Elementary School, we will do our best to balance the excitement of warming temperatures, preparation for state tests and pushing through our curriculum at full force. We plan to work hard but also take time to have some fun. Staff and students are looking forward to spring break which is the week of March 29th. It is our hope that everyone will take that week to rest and re-energize!
PSSA testing will take place one week after spring break. The English/Language Arts test will be held during the week of April 13th, the Math test will be held during the week of April 20th, and the Science test will be held during the week of April 27th. Attendance at school is imperative during testing. Students in grades 3,4, and 5 will take the English/Language Arts and Math tests and only students in grade 4 will take the Science test.
The second marking period is just about over and that means report cards will be sent home soon. There is an opportunity to schedule a conference with your child's teacher during the week of March 19th. These conferences are based on teacher recommendation as well as parent request. Now that we have reached the final stretch of the school year, time is going to fly! Please continue to communicate with teachers and/or myself about any questions or concerns you may have. Here is to warmer weather!!!
