For the 4th consecutive year, Aston Elementary School has been awarded a National or State Character Education Award. It is the only school in the state of Pennsylvania to be recognized for four consecutive years for such awards on that level. The school, (students, staff and parents), was selected as a 2011 Pennsylvania State School of Character Award winner for the third consecutive year. This last award designates Aston as a State School of Character for the next 3 years, 2011-2013. Congratulations to our students, teachers, parents, and Aston Peace Builders Committee for all of their efforts. The development of the different special programs by this committee and the support by our teachers, parents and students in carrying out the programs have brought our school and district this special recognition.

Our staff is looking forward to utilizing our new reading series entitled, “Journeys” for the second year, and implementing our new writing program, “Being a Writer,” with our students. We continue to strive to bring our students the very best to enhance their academic growth.
