Aston Elementary School
Gary
Mr. Gary Bender
Principal

Approximately 405 students in kindergarten through fifth grade will attend Aston Elementary School in 2008-09. All of the elementary schools provide learning opportunities with a focus on student achievement.  Students also receive instruction in physical education, music, art, guidance and library science.  A gifted program, held at Northley Middle School this year is available for eligible students in grades 2 - 5, offering enrichment opportunities to supplement regular classroom instruction.  Students with special needs receive appropriate support in the classroom or Learning Support classroom to promote success.

There are 2 computer labs available with 30 computers in each lab that provide the latest technology for our students’ use to support our academic program. Several computers will now be available in each classroom too. There is a computer program for reading and math entitled the SMe (Success Maker Enterprises) for students. Students visit one of the labs, several, or every day each week for 20-30 minutes depending on their grade level.

Aston Elementary School is proud to announce that it has now met AYP on the PSSA for 6 consecutive years in math and reading through the fine effort of our students, staff, parents and programs.
