Approximately 275 students in kindergarten through fifth grade attend Parkside Elementary School.  The major focus of the elementary schools is to provide learning opportunities to improve student achievement. Students also receive instruction in physical education, music, art, guidance and library science.  Spanish is available for all 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade pupils. A district gifted-education program is available for qualified children in grades two through five which offers supplemental enrichment experiences to the core classroom instruction.  Students with special needs receive appropriate support in the classroom to promote success.

This year’s theme for Parkside Elementary is “We’re On the Same Team”. Built around the theme will be team sponsored assemblies and activities. For example, each class will create their own pennant with their team name and students will create their own “trading card”. Our Reading Counts program will continue for 3^rd, 4^th, and 5^th grades and will also be theme related. Students that reach their reading goal will earn individual awards for outstanding student readers. As always, teachers and staff will continue to acknowledge those students who go above and beyond following the school rules and displaying Parkside Pride.
