On behalf of the Parkside Elementary staff, welcome to the 2012/13 school year. Parkside Elementary is committed to providing a high-quality education; the curriculum is comprehensive and designed to meet the needs of all learners. Meaningful, standards-based instruction in the content areas of language arts, math, science and social studies as well as visual arts, music, band, guidance, character education, and physical education are at the core of the curriculum. The Parkside Elementary theme for this school year,Wild by Nature, will lend itself to the exploration and discovery of local wildlife that thrives in neighboring parks, streams, conservancies and our own backyards. As partners in education it is the responsibility of school and family to develop in our children an appreciation of the natural treasures native to our area. Without question, children do better in school when families and community groups work together to support learning, which is why Parkside Elementary is fortunate to have a dedicated staff, engaged students, involved parents and a supportive community.
