October 23, 2014
                                                         Day 1

We all love a sweet treat, but rarely do we discuss the chemistry involved.  Whether it’s hard candy, chocolate, or taffy, the sugars and ingredients within undergo a transformation in its properties that result in the delicious treats we enjoy.  The Sun Valley High School Chemistry Department would like to inform everyone that it is National Chemistry Week!  The National Chemistry Week 2014 theme is "The Sweet Side of Chemistry—Candy", showcasing the chemistry involved in candy and confections.  Keep your eyes peeled for the Human Periodic Table today…you never know, you may just learn something!!!  Happy Chemistry Week!

For the first themed day in the School Store!  The Life Skills students will be selling Apple Cider donuts from Linvilla Orchards. The donuts will be sold all day on Friday, October 24, for $1.00.

Attn any students selling Corbi’s:  All money and forms are due to your class sponsor by Friday the 24th.  No late forms will be accepted!

Ghosts, witches, and vampires, oh my!  If you are interested in paranormal activity, exorcisms, poltergeists, or any other hair-raising tales, come to the MIC to check out the display of scary books.
