Northley Middle School has been recognized by the Pennsylvania Department of Education as the Exemplar School in Delaware County. The Pennsylvania Department of Education requested that one school be selected in each Intermediate Unit throughout the Commonwealth. Northley was chosen to receive this honor because it is the only school in Delaware County that has shown consistent gains every year from 2002 to 2006 in both reading and math while meeting all No Child Left Behind performance targets. Northley was the only school out of the 105 schools in the County to receive this honor.
Accolades were also given to Penn-Delco for the innovative support practices that have been implemented in the District and our relentless focus on achievement. The Office of Accountability and Assessment in the Pennsylvania Department of Education has been notified of Northley’s selection as an exemplar school.
