The Penn-Delco School District (PDSD) is located in Southeastern Pennsylvania approximately 15 miles southwest of Philadelphia. The district encompasses Brookhaven and Parkside Boroughs and Aston Township. Approximately 3,300 students are enrolled in grades Kindergarten through 12. The district comprises four elementary, one middle, and one senior high school.
The mission of the Penn-Delco School District is to enable all students to learn the skills, acquire the knowledge, and develop the attitudes necessary for them to reach their full potential as citizens who can meet the challenges of a changing global society in the 21st Century. Our primary focus has always been on student achievement. The district has implemented academic standards in an effort to stress high expectations for all students.
The Penn-Delco School District believes that students need skills that require them to:
- Become self-directed learners;
- Employ problem-solving and decision-making skills;
- Attain communication and group interaction skills;
- Express themselves creatively;
- Utilize skills necessary to adapt to and create change;
- Enhance and sustain self esteem; and
- Demonstrate concern, tolerance, and respect for others.
